An Ecuadorian Legacy

Architectural and Cultural Heritage

Cuenca is the third largest city in Ecuador! With a rich cultural and architectural heritage, it is one of the most visited cities in the country, making it also one of the busiest we've been to.

The city is also one of the oldest in the country, originally settled by the Incas and named Cuenca in 1557 by the Spanish conquistadors. Incan stories from before the Spanish arrived have even lead to speculation that Cuenca may have been the legendary golden city of El Dorado.
